UUGGGGGG. Today I woke up feeling like I was going to throw up. :'( I ran into the bathroom and did end up getting sick. Poor Candi was locked out forever. So, now I'm just drinking lots of water and have my laptop in my bed. :P I'm taking advantage of this sickness!

Yesterday, Candi and I went to Farrel McWhirter. (That's the place I'm going to take my horse camp. :)) It was really fun because they have swings that I love and tons of animals! Horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, bunnies, and cats. I took tons of photos of the horses. :P

We also had to see a cat get a cute, screaming, gray mouse. >:( We saw the cat chasing something and when we came closer we saw the poor mouse in the cat's mouth and the cat took off behind a fence. Candi wanted to throw pinecones at it to make it drop the mouse, but we didn't. lol! Though we couldn't see cat and mouse, we could still hear the mouse and I felt bad. :( I hate seeing that stuff and wish we did throw pinecones at the cat!

Anyway, here are some pics I took:

This little pony is very sweet! As we walked around the fence, she followed us. <3

I think this is the horse I rode last year. I'm not sure though. :)

This poor cow was really itchy but we couldn't reach him. :(

Aww! She came right up to us.

A random duck...

I started my blog last night and forgot to come back to it. :(

Candi bought me some books for homeschooling a while ago and they just came in! I LOVE them. They are not boring at all, and I am learning TONS from the books. Here are the ones I got: Understanding your Body, Vegetarian Cooking for Beginners, Introduction to Music, Little Encyclopedia of the Human Body, Dictionary of Math, Genes & DNA, The Young Naturalist, and Big Cats. O_O; A long list. There's still more too but I just won't list them. Anyway, those are some of the ones I got. :)

I'll come back to this later! I'm going on a hike with Candi! Bye!

Horse Riding

Well, Candi signed me up for a horse riding class at one of the parks nearby. I'm kind of nervous because I'm so unbelieveably bad at tacking up a horse. >_< I love riding them though, so I'm excited too. It's a forest trail, and you have someone who walks beside you in case you get scared. I wish they didn't do that! I kind of like walking alone! ;) The only thing is...they have a race. You trott your horse in a straight line and that's where I want someone to hold the reins. (Luckily, they do. I'm such a wimp! lol!) Anyway, I get to go September 7th, so it's kind of soon...I hope I can at least get the blanket on right!

I can't help but wonder if things like this are going to happen even though I know they won't!

Even with being homeschooled, I am still going to a few classes at a school that is just for homeschooled kids. Last year, I took American Sign Language (ASL), math, writing, and science. This year, I get to take math, ASL, and photography! I love my ASL teacher, and I can't wait for the photography class too! I'm not sure exactly when the classes start up again, but I know it's somewhat soon.

Here's a picture of our ASL alphabet:

Oooh! Muffins!

The subject says it all...I made Candi some muffins! Once again, I stole Candi's VwaV book and found a good looking Lemon Poppyseed Muffin recipe! It was so fun to make, but I had to have Candi make the zest. :( I couldn't do it. I also had her put them in the oven and take them out since I'm not yet comfortable using it alone. I only changed one thing in this recipe...I didn't use rice milk. I used a really good hazelnut milk that made the muffins SO good and different. I love this new cooking thing...

Home EC.

Yesterday, Candi got a new cookbook! It is called Vegan with a Vengeance. Usually, I let her do the cooking, but then I got an idea! I looked through the book and found Chocolate Chip Pancakes. They looked SO good! I knew I had to make them! So, today I asked Candi if I could surprise her, and she let me buy the chocolate chips. :) She had to wait upstairs while I got out the cookbook and items and went to work!

In the end the pancakes looked nothing like they were suppose to, but they were really good!

So, today is history and P.E. day! We'll be playing tennis again and I'll be trying to hit the ball straight. And then, the worst subject of the worst...HISTORY. *cries* It's so boring...... I'll try to post here about the chapter I read. If I don't fall asleep writ- *zzz*

Well, we didn't end up playing tennis because we went to a book shop where I got some awesome books! First of all, I got three of one of my favorite book series ever. AmericanGirl. I got, What Would You Do, Staying home Alone, a Smart Girl's Guide to Manners, a Goosebumps book (How I Learned to Fly), and lastly The Call of the Wild and White Fang. Yes, The Call of the Wild and White Fang is one book. :D Great deal, huh? Mom even got me some math books... they look hard but she said she'd help! :D

Ok. Back to the subject of history. Well, I can't say 'here's what I found interesting' because...there isn't anything interesting about history! SOOOO, here are some things that I managed to soak in:

"When fighting broke out in 1754, the colonists found themselves at war with the French." Good luck colonists. "In 1755, French soldiers and their Indian allies attacked a British force under the command of General Braddock in Western Pennsylvania." *sigh* If it weren't for these people, the world wouldn't be the way it is today...still... THEIR LIVES ARE BORING!!! OK. Time to change the subject before I DIE.

I am going to be making a pie for Home Ec.!! It's for a contest. It has to be vegan and creative! I think I'll have fun with it! I really want to do a pear pie (They are SOO good) but I think it may be too hard to make vegan. I may have to stick with apple or something easy to convert to vegan. :( It's in awhile so I have some time to think about it. Hopefully I'll come up with something!

Thanks again for reading another HS blog! ^_^

Thursday, August 17, 2006

Ok. So, I decided that this blog will be about homeschooling: where I go for field trips, books I use, what I learn, what I do for PE, Home Ec., projects, and other things I can't think of right now. :P

Today, I'll be doing Geography. (I LOVE it! It's probabaly my favorite subject.) I believe it's on cultures, but when I'm done, I'll come back and edit and post about it!

:) Yay! I finished another book today. I have a book log that I use to keep track of all the books I read. I made it on Excel and it just has: the title of the book, the author, how many pages, fiction or non-fiction, and the category. I love it, and I realized that within two years, I've read more than 60 books. :) So, if you want to keep track of your books or just see how many books you can read in a year, create a book log! :P

Candi and I played tennis today. It counts as my P.E. since I suggested it and I am learning how to play! I am quite bad at hitting the ball straight right now so I'm working on it! It's tough! How do people do it...

Also, here were some things that I found out in Geography today that I found interesting! First of all, I found out that this chapter wasn't about cultures. It's about industry. I found out that before factories, people had to make everything by hand. "To make a coat or a chair took many hours or days of labor." Wow. I can't imagine making my own chairs! Lol! The term for making your won items was, cottage industries. The factories that were built drew thousands of workers away from the cottage industries. "By the nineteenth century, small, scattered cottage industries could no longer compete with factories." Consumer goods are goods that people buy for their own use. Some examples are: cars, bikes, and stereos. Ok. My hands are breaking off from writing this much. I read a ton more but I can't post it all. Thanks for reading! :)

San, Juan Island

Candi and I know we want to go there! It is so pretty and I would love to go collect crabs! We are saving up so we can put the dogs in a kennel and be able to maybe stay overnight there. We could hike, bike, collect crabs, SHOP, and try out vegan food shops! :P I so can't wait until the next time we go there! The Ferry ride is so long and but Candi and I make it fun with cards, Gameboy, Sketchbooks, and books!

Darn. School starts kinda soon. The good news is, I take ASL and photography! I love those things! I forget what else I'm taking...math I think. I'm so happy that I am free of writing. I would take ANYTHING to stay away from that witch/devil/alien women! Heh... she's probably really nice.

:) Today I went to the Teapot! It is so good! I got the rose drummets, rice, and mango juice and Candi got Suki Yaki and I loved it! It was baby corn, carrots, tofu, green beans, peppers, glass noodles, and veggie broth. SO good! :D

Small blog but I lost things to write about.

I have been getting Zoo Books for a very long time now and I love it! At first I thought it would just be babyish but when I read them, omg! They have so much info and are not babyish at all! The info is awesome and they have very neat pics! I have whales, horses, baby animals, birds of prey, gorillas, monkeys, and (and MANY more) right now I'm reading one on snakes!

Check out their awesome web site:

"Many vipers have venom glands so large that the sides of their heads are expanded to make room for them."

:) Today and yesterday have been better! Mom and I didn't cry yesterday and so far today! We still REALLY miss Minnie but are doing better. We also got a package yesterday from Auntie! The card was SO cute. She drew Minnie and it looked just like her! :o Mom took pictures of it so check it out on her blog. She also sent us a little Candle (That I love!) and Doggie Daycare! I LOVE them!! I already had two sets and the one she sent was the one I happened to not have! :D The little swing set and sandbox is really cute.(Now I just need to keep Oreo and Lily away so they won't eat it! They won't because it's in my room and my door is always closed.)

Wow! I just randomly made up these siggy animals. From left to right: Cat, Dog, Owl The owl looks weird but I couldn't find anything that looked like wings! Lol!

Yay! I got onto a new level of Frogger last night. It's a fun one too! Wow. I'm really searchin' for things to write about aren't I?

Today was ROUGH. We had to pick up Minnie's kitty carrier and her ashes. Omg. It was so sad just seeing the waiting room and remembering the times we brought her in, brought her home, and were waiting to visit her. When I saw her carrier with her name on it and a little box of ashes inside I felt like screaming, "THIS IS SO WRONG! MINNIE IS NOT THAT BOX! SHE ISN'T DEAD!!!" I guess I'm still in the shock and denil part, huh? Lucky me!

Yesterday I did see something though. I was sitting on the couch when I saw a tail jump from the table to the chair and it looked like heat waves around it. I thought the heater was on and I was imagining things but when I looked to see where the heater was WAY off to the right and I'm positive it wasn't on now. Minnie? A crazy mind? Depression making me see things? I don't know! I asked mom but she said she's heard Minnie's meowing coming from the dining room and going into the living room. It's probably something so logical. LOL

A candle a night sad.

*sigh* We are having this candle lighting thing for Minnie tonight. People everywhere gather together at 7 PM. It's like a ceremony. You light three candles and dance around a fire with weird face paintings and feathered headress. LOL! JK! You light three candles and in your mind or out loud tell your pet how much you love them...things like that I guess! :'( IT IS AWEFUL!!! :'( :'(

So, we pick Minnie up tomorrow and her cat carrier. It's going to be sad but we'll put Minnie into a cute ashes box wit her name ingraved into it and put it all on one shelf. The shelf already has the lock of fur and the letter we got from the vets. It made Candi cry!! AWWWW. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO US MINNIE?!!

Sunday, August 06, 2006

Woo! Mom bought us some animal tarot cards yesterday! They are awesome! I hadn't wanted to go into Soulfood books but mom dragged me in by my hair. Lol! We got some soy hot chocolate, water, tea, and played the game Uno. :D When we were done, we looked through the tarot cards and I was quickly drawn to the animal ones! They were awesome looking but expensive! I figured mom wouldn't get them but she told me not to look and bought two things. :o When we got home, she showed me a CUTE (and sad!) rock cat that I love and I think is lucky. Then pulled out the taro cards!! We played and I got cards that said things like: "The Snake: Things die and are reborn all the time. Just like the snake sheds it's skin. It leaves behind the old and continues on the unknown path." (Minnie) I (Minnie) reworded (Minnie) it (Minnie) but (Minnie) that's (Minnie) close (Minnie)! :P

King Of The Wind

I just read the book King Of The Wind and it was really good! It was much longer than I thought it was going to be but so worth it! I think I bought this book from the library for 75 cents. :o SO cheap for such a good book! Usually I wouldn't really like this type of book but this one was so entertaining! :D

I'm starting to wonder if if I'm going to be on of those people who never stop being sad for a lifetime. (Not just missing your pet but crying all the time) I really feel like that. I'm a time bomb ready to burst into tears if I see anything else today. We got a card from the vets that really saddened me but I held back. My dream about her was good though. She was healthy, happy, and playful when I played with her in the dream. I hugged her, pet her, kissed her, and played with toys with her. :) Happy dream. I need lots more if I EVER want to feel ok.

Last night mom made us both a Minnie pillow. They are so cute and I loved hugging mine. I think Minnie's still around but I still get sad looking at videos or pictures of her. :( I keep looking at her cat bed and thinking I see her. When I look again, it's just Tia or Mittens. Someday, it won't be Tia or Mittens...she'll visit us.
