Britty - My Vegan Life

Friday, January 05, 2007

I think you've seen Candi's blog about our dinner! We're addicted to peanut sauce now! :P

Anyway, I got the recipe to make brownies for dessert from Vive Le Vegan! They were so good and easy to make!

They only thing I changed was instead of using ground chocolate chips, I just put whole ones.

I found out that we didn't have Arrowroot powder and I was so sad thinking we couldn't make our brownies! I later looked online and found out I could substitute cornstarch for it! :D (That was great to know!)

I'm so glad to hear you had great results with these brownies. I made them and they didn't turn out good at all. My husband said that they were so dry it was like eating hot cocoa powder straight from the packet. I ground the chocolate chips though. You've inspired me to give them another try. :)

I must say the brownies look Awesome.. our family fav. brownies come from Dreena's Vive le dear four year old Emma just umm and ahh and squealed when she ate them calling them "awesome chocolately goodness!"
We also LOVE peanut noodles we call them here .. we just had them last week.. sadly though I put just a touch to much red curry paste in ours and well, the little ones did quite enjoy them like they usually do.. bad mommy!
take care britty.. are you guys still homeschooling after the move? do homeschoolers get a Christmas break? don't laugh .. you must huh? But, I honestly don't know..

Wow, those brownies look delicious. I love that brownie recipe! I am glad that using cornstarch instead of arrowroot worked out for you. That's helpful to me because I don't always have arrowroot on hand either!

Two brownies on a heart-shaped plate. Too cute!!!!!! :)

My husband and I have explored many a vegan brownie recipe. He's a chocaholic! Our current favorites are the wheat-free fudge brownies from the Jo Stepaniak's Food Allergy Survival Guide.

Thanks for sharing. You are quickly becoming an inspiration to my oldest, she's 9. We absolutely love brownies, too. I have to admit I'm glad you mentioned the cornstarch substitution. I must confess we don't keep arrowroot powder in our home. Again, thanks for sharing and keep on baking.

Yes! I am lucky to have my own pastry chef in the house! (too bad for my diet though. Lol!) I'm not a brownie lover, but I did like these a lot! Very fudgey. :)

Aaaaaaaaaah, now you see how you just need Cocoa Beans in life ?

Yes Britty, you need them and tell Candi.

Cocoa Beans AND Peanuts would be the Best of the Best but sadly, I can't grow peanuts in Flower Bud Village.

Seriously, I want to hire you. Right now ! Beautiful brownies. I haven't made them yet but I will. *rubs hands together* Oh yes, I will *evil laugh*

LOL ;-)
